About the
Stirling-Rawdon BIA
Supporting local businesses, strengthening community connections, and helping Stirling-Rawdon remain a vibrant place to shop, work, visit and explore.
Working Together for a Stronger Community
The Stirling-Rawdon Business Improvement Area (BIA) is a 100% volunteer-run organization, driven by local business owners and community members who dedicate their time and energy to strengthening our village and supporting the businesses that call Stirling-Rawdon home.
We take particular pride in what we believe is a unique distinction among Ontario's BIAs: operating entirely through volunteer efforts. Our work is made possible by the generosity, participation, and ongoing support of our local business community.
From organizing seasonal celebrations and bringing community events to the village, to supporting beautification projects and promoting local businesses, our efforts are rooted in a shared commitment to keeping Stirling-Rawdon vibrant, welcoming, and connected.
We believe a thriving village is built by the people and businesses who invest in it. Every volunteer, participating business, and community partnership helps us create experiences that bring residents together, attract visitors, and celebrate everything that makes Stirling-Rawdon special.
What Does the BIA Do?
From enhancing our commercial areas to encouraging people to discover local businesses, our work centres on three important priorities.
Beautification & Placemaking
Supporting initiatives that improve the appearance and appeal of our commercial areas, including seasonal beautification, streetscape enhancements, and welcoming public spaces.
Business Promotion
Helping residents and visitors discover local businesses through the Visit Stirling-Rawdon website, business directory, social media, community campaigns, and promotional opportunities.
Community Connections
Encouraging collaboration among businesses, community organizations, and local partners while helping promote events, activities, and resources that support the community.
A Thriving Community Begins with Supporting Local.
Every local purchase, shared experience, community event, and business connection contributes to the character and vitality of Stirling-Rawdon.
Membership & Participation
The Stirling-Rawdon BIA brings together businesses and property owners within the designated improvement area, while providing opportunities for other Stirling-Rawdon businesses to participate through associate membership.
Businesses within the designated BIA boundary are generally included through the municipal commercial property levy. Businesses outside the designated area, including qualifying home-based businesses, can explore associate membership.
Associate membership is currently advertised at $75 annually. Membership eligibility and participation are subject to the BIA's applicable policies and municipal requirements.
How the BIA Operates
Business Improvement Areas in Ontario operate under the framework established by the Municipal Act, 2001. A BIA board of management works within the municipal framework to support improvements to its designated area and to promote that area as a business or shopping destination.
The Stirling-Rawdon BIA works with local businesses, community organizations, and municipal partners to advance initiatives that benefit the local commercial area and broader community connections.
Businesses interested in board activities, participation, or upcoming initiatives are encouraged to contact the BIA for further information.
